2018 Ford Edge Release Date, Engine Specs, Interior Design, Performance and Price

Sharing is caring!

Up until now, the Ford Edge used to come with a third-row of seating. However, one of the biggest changes in the 2018 Ford Edge model is the elimination of this third row on this mid-size crossover SUV. GM made the decision to provide all the other passengers more room by eliminating the last row.

If you’re looking for a great SUV for the family a little bigger than the compact Escape and the subcompact EcoSport, but a little smaller than the Expedition, Explorer, and Flex, the 2018 Ford Edge is one of your best options.

One of the things that you shouldn’t really expect to see relates to any changes on the exterior of the new 2018 Ford Edge. After all, this crossover SUV is still looking pretty modern and it was severely updated last year. However, there are a lot of customizations you can do if you’re willing to pay a little more. You can get a rear spoiler, some dark mirror caps, special 19” dark colored alloy wheels, blacked out headlamp bezels, dark grille, front and rear skid plates, window tints, among others. All these options are only available only for the higher trims – the SEL and above.

The interior is where you will be able to see more changes on the 2018 Ford Edge. Just like we already mentioned above, the third-row of the 2018 Ford Edge is going to disappear providing more space for al the passengers. But the changes don’t end here. We believe that the trim materials will be updated and the old hard surfaces will become “soft-touch”. Plus, the dash should be a bit higher that it is right now.
